Last night when the six former castaways returned as the Outcast tribe and beat both the Drake and the Morgan teams in the Immunity Challenge, Shawn Cohen and Osten Taylor were the casualties. Osten quit, asking his tribe mates to vote him off the island. Over at Drake, Shawn couldn't seem to quit fighting with Jon and he was voted off of the Drake tribe. This morning they both appeared on the CBS Early Show and talked with Harry Smith about their experiences. SurvivorUpdates is pleased to bring you the transcript and Screen Caps of their interview.

Harry Smith - Last night in what is easily the most shocking twist in the history of Survivor, al of the castoffs returned as a brand new tribe. Unfortunately for Shawn Cohen and Osten Taylor, the new tribe managed to win the Immunity Challenge and send Drake and Morgan to Tribal Council
( Shows a clip of Jeff telling the Drake and Morgan tribe that their past has come back to haunt them .. tells the Outcast Tribe to come on in guys.... then shows the Outcast tribe celebrating their win - then Osten telling his tribe to "vote his out because he doesn't deserve to win" - Jeff saying to Osten - per your wishes - GO HOME - Shows a clip of Shawn telling the Drake tribe why he should remain- then shows him being voted off)

Shawn and Osten - Good Morning
Harry - What was your reaction when you guys got to the Immunity Challenge last night and Jeff Probst said - oh by the way - come on out outcasts?
Harry ( to Shawn) what was your reaction?
Shawn - I was definitely shocked - I can't say the happiest to see them. But I had no idea what the challenge entailed and once I found out I was a disappointed in the whole twist.
Harry -Yeah.. did you feel like it was unfair?
Shawn - umm.. I just felt like I had been on the island for the last how many days that they hadn't and you know I hadn't sleeping very much and I felt like maybe they had.
Harry ( to Osten ) what was your reaction?
Osten - I was kind of confused - I thought that umm you know with Survivor normally you know once you are castled off you are castled off and no returns ... you know it's just like you go to the gas chamber and if you die- providing there is not divine intervention - you don't come back - it's all over -
Shawn and Harry - chuckle
Osten - hey you know it's strong but it's reality
Shawn - yeah but I do agree - It's unconstutional in my opinion
Osten - but I mean it happened like that and you got to deal with it...
Harry - so these guys - the Outcasts come out and they kick your butts in the Immunity Challenge - back you guys go to your respective tribes and Osten, The first thing you said is - get me out of there
Osten - Yeah I was struggling out there - it was a tough situation. It was much tougher that I actually imagined But you know once I saw that they had a chance to bring people back I was like - I don't have a fighting chance - so I was like you know what ... my health is too important to me and I figured that potentially you know that I'll get.. possibly - not sure back in the game -
Harry - You did not look happy out there from day one.
Osten - laughing

Harry - was it your second day out there you said ( in a whiney voice - - I can't stand it - it's too hard
Osten - I did whine like a 2 year old school girl - I won't lie to you about that...
Harry laughing say - there it is - there it is...there's the truth
Osten - I was definitely whining - no question about it - I was out of my element...
Shawn - He's scared of a mouse to be honest with you ...
Harry - nobody is more cut - no more cut - no more buff than you and it's ( said in a whiney voice- "help me - help me" )
< Shawn says something to Osten about the "jolly green giant" ( But I can't understand exactly what he says -Harry and Osten are both talking over him - )
Osten - I'm not going to lie to you I was definitely struggling out there and acting like a 2 year old school girl but at the same time - the first time that I originally wanted to quit - it was more frustration - we were getting our asses handed to us a couple of times - ummm we lost some challenges and they came over and stole our top - now you saw me I was just in my boxers and so I was like man I am going to freeze to death - but you know I didn't freeze and I made it through
Harry - to Shawn - Now what was your critical error? Because I would have bet ....
Shawn - Which one you mean?

Harry - I would have bet ...
Shawn - looking back and watching it is a lot different ... lot than being in it.
Harry - yeah..
Shawn - Hindsight is 20/20. I'd say my first mistake was probably in the beginning - watching the episode seeing how the tribe responded to Burton and I, to how we spend all the time together we did in the beginning. We did it just as a friendship and it wasn't even an alliance building thing and I see how other people kinda took to that. I would say that was probably one of my .... ( missed it )
Harry was speaking over him ....
Harry - You had a chance to put Rupert away last week.
Shawn - I did, you know what.. I did definitely. It was in my hands
Harry - Yep
Shawn - I had the choice. Sandra is one of those people, I don't know if you've seen her yet, she'll go where everyone else wants her to go when it comes to the vote.
Harry - yeah - sure But Hindsight? you should have ??
Shawn - I should have put him away. I didn't you know because I respected Rupert
Harry - right
Shawn - I had a lot of admiration for him.
Harry - he's an amazing player...
Shawn - I felt he played really hard.
Harry - yea
Shawn - Jon was somebody who had taken it from me in the past and kind of screwed me over with Burton and so it was my way of getting him back.
Harry - Where you going to punch him out? In the episode last night, it looks like ....
Shawn - you know what.... Looking back - I should have laid him out. I really should have... Just for everyone else's sake not even my own.
Harry - laughs then says... to Osten - Jeff Probst was he that mad at you?
Osten- Well.. Jeff Probst is a coward at times.....so umm yeah he was mad.
Harry - yeah he was mad... well we are going to have more with these guys in just a little bit- they've agreed to stick around to answer some of your questions.
( He gives the number to call ) 1- 800 - 377- 1718 says we will talk to these guys more in our next half hour....
Harry - It was by far the biggest twist in the history of Survivor. Last night, all six contestants who were voted off the show were brought back into the game to form a third tribe called the Outcasts. In the end, they cost both Osten Taylor and Shawn Cohen a shot at the million dollars, but they're there and willing to take a couple of calls from some of our viewers. We had the number up a little while ago. Let's go to the phones right now.
Harry - Let's go to Sarah who has a question for Shawn. Sarah go ahead.
Sarah - My question is do you regret throwing the chest game, that seemed to be the downfall for the Drake tribe?
Shawn- ummm to the question of ... do I regret throwing the challenge - I think that might have been some people's decision to throw the challenge but if you recall two people were standing in my way didn't stay on the platform - so my idea was I can't throw a challenge.
Harry - Right
Shawn - I wasn't really in for throwing the challenge. I think some people had that idea, but that wasn't my deal.
Harry - That wasn't your deal? O- kay - All right- Now we have Debbie on the phone who has a question for Osten this morning. Debbie go ahead...
( silence)
Harry - YO Debbie...
( silence)
Debbie - oh... no I have a question for Shawn
Harry - oh.. alright ...let's go ahead and go to Valerie. Valerie? Are you out there ?
<silence>
Osten and Shawn laugh a nervous laugh ...
Harry - alright I've got plenty more questions....
Valerie - Yes I am....
Harry - oh there you go.. Valerie - you have a question go ahead....
Valerie - Yes ..I have a question for Shawn - -
Harry- go ahead....
Valerie - Shawn, why would you apply for Survivor knowing you'd be on an island and you could not swim- yelling for help...
Harry - laughs....
Osten looks puzzled- says oh for me?
Harry points to him and says....Why would you go ....
Osten - she said Shawn....
Harry - she meant Osten ... Why would you go on a Survivor ISLAND show if you can't really swim.
Shawn.. that's a good question...
Osten - well the fact of the matter is I actually I can swim, I'm just not a great swimmer, You know what i mean, I'm not a great swimmer... I can swim but I'm not a great swimmer,
Harry - right...
Osten - you know ... I was out of food and I had no energy.
( shows a clip of Osten yelling for help in the water)
Harry - ( looking at the clip ) now, were you in serious trouble here?
Osten - Absolutely
Harry - Big time?
Osten - yeah - I was out of gas, you know? See how my feet stopped moving? I'm trying to ummm...stay above water and my buddies come and get me and so... I'm all set now ... Andrew and Rhino - Great guys...
Harry - now here's my other question -
Osten - yeah?
Harry - are you really afraid of bug and ...
Osten - I wouldn't say afraid of bugs or what not. I'm afraid of snakes.
Shawn - and pelicans.... ( laughs)
Osten - I wasn't a scared (yes he said A scared ) of pelicans they carry diseases!!
everyone cracking up laughing... Shawn says something ;ole he's afraid of them or something about him being scared of something .. ( but I couldn't catch it over the laughter)
Osten - yeah I get a little nervous
Harry - All told, would you do it again if you had the opportunity?
Shawn - I'd do it in a second .. I would
Osten - laughs ....
Harry - ( to Osten) I have a feeling you dod't - you would not make the same answer
Osten ....ummmm
Harry ....Because you know what... ??
Osten - what's that??
Harry - because you are getting ready to go down there. You're dreaming what this is going to be like, you're visualizing what it's like you are visualizing what it's going to be like and collecting that check for a million dollars.
Osten - Absolutely
Harry - How could it have been so different? - Because you were miserable from the second you got out there.
Osten - now there is where you're incorrect there.I wasn't miserable the whole time....I got miserable when I realized I was just going to be in my boxers without some clothes.... ...and I said Whoa.. this is going to be a tough mountain to climb. But I mean with everything you know, you go through life . you know what? Let me try this..
Harry - right...
Osten - I tired it, I realized that hey - this isn't for me . I can accept that.
Harry - alright ( reaches to shake Osten's hand ) and says..good to see you...
Osten - shakes Harry's hand and says alright...
Harry and Shawn shake hands.. and Harry says....Thanks for coming over and thanks for being good sports.
Osten and Shawn say Thank You.
