The Amazing Race 13: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Episode 4 – Dumb Moves
by David Bloomberg -- 10/22/2008

CBS The Amazing Race: You might jump to the conclusion that the “dumb moves” mentioned in the title of this article refers to Marisa & Brooke (left), who were, after all, eliminated. While I enjoyed the fourth episode of The Amazing Race 13, when it came time to sit down and decide on the Good, Bad, and Ugly moments of the week, I found very little Good to talk about. Instead, it seems there was quite a lot of Bad to go around. Perhaps that’s because what’s Bad for teams sometimes makes for good TV. Let’s take a look.

The Good

We got to meet Phil’s dad! I think that must have been a huge thrill for both father and son – and no, I’m not talking about his dad being able to hug the Southern Belles. In just that flash of a few seconds, we could see were Phil came by at least some of his personality.
The only other Good moment was a strategic one. In the airport, Dan & Andrew explained to us that they knew it would be smart to help a weaker team, the Southern Belles. They were right – you don’t want to help a strong team, because it can come back to bite you. It’s better to help a weaker team and hopefully eliminate strong competition.
