Where's a more appropriate place to host a cooking competition than a city known as the Big Apple? That's where the fifth season of Bravo's Top Chef will be taking place when it debuts Wednesday, November 12 at 10 p.m.
Head judge Tom Colicchio, host Padma Lakshmi, and judge Gail Simmons are all back to taste the many dishes and test the contestants' abilities. The new face on the block is Toby Young, a food critic and author of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People – yep, the one the new Simon Pegg movie is based on. Not sure what happened to Ted Allen – doesn't he have his own series? Oh well.
Guests in New York this season will include Martha Stewart, the Foo Fighters, Jean-Georges, Eric Ripert, Rocco DiSpirito, Wylie Dufresne, Jean-Christophe Novelli, and Natasha Richardson. Um, how did the Foo Fighters get in there? Is Dave Grohl a foodie or something?
