  This week’s episode of Survivor: Gabon broke from the early pattern of the show. Fang finally won not one, but two challenges. Kota was sent to its first Tribal Council, and Paloma was voted off the island. There was a lot to choose from when deciding who should receive this week’s MIA. Who did Sandy decide to give it to? Last week, I predicted that the Fang tribe might go the way of the Ulong tribe from Survivor: Palau. Now we know why I avoid making bold predictions, don’t we?!

Yes, the Fang tribe managed to put aside their still-apparent differences and win two challenges, but they were not without their share of drama. Randy called his tribemates stupid, GC complained about Randy, and the tribe found themselves with only half their rice remaining after a mere seven days.

Over at Kota, Ace has emerged as the leader, though most of his tribemates seem opposed to this. They are definitely not a united tribe, early success notwithstanding. Ace seemingly set Paloma up to look weak during the reward challenge, and it worked, as she was voted off at the tribe’s first Tribal Council.
