Jakey's Corner: Episode 10 - Smug Ami Hangs Chad

Episode 10 - Smug Ami Hangs Chad

Hey Folks! Well wasn’t that special? I guess when the promos referred to Scout making her move; they were referring to her bowels since she sure ended up crapping out on Chad. As far as strategy goes, these guys are giving me a real headache, especially when Scout can’t even do the math. According to her a Chris, Chad, Scout and Twila pact would have given them a 4 to 3 advantage! Huh? Ami is in control and deserves to be since she seems to be the only one with any functional grey matter. On the Apprentice last night The Donald, in a fit of pique, fired 2 people (instead of 1). Maybe MB should consider something similar to shake up these bubble heads. Ok, enough foreplay, let’s get to the action.

Ok folks, I have been staring at this screen far too long and playing with keys like a kid plays with the spinach on his plate. Be warned this is going to be like a commando raid---in and out fast and it may get messy.

The show opens with what has to be one of the most idiotic and self-serving statements ever seen on this show. Chris gives the girls the Boo-Hoo line about how Sarge told Chris to vote him off since he knew he was going anyway. “So I voted for Sarge” says Chris. This was met with cold indifference from all. Like who gives a royal crap? Chris is under the delusion that his verbal self castration will help endear him to the women. Oh puuullleezee!!! Get outta my sight and wet your bed elsewhere.

Speaking of bedwetting, Scout is first up the next morning and reveals in a confessional that she is aware that she and Twila may have been replaced on Ami’s scorecard with “Jules” (why can’t she get the name right?) and Leann. She doesn’t think Julie deserves to be there. Arghh! Words fail me.
Scout approaches Chris and Chad sleeping by the fire on tells them she may have a plan to keep them in the game for a few more days but she has to see if Twila would be on board first. Naturally she wants to get rid of Eliza and then maybe Ami. The fact that the men would go along with this plan goes to show their total clueless ness when it comes to strategy. Ami has to be the prime target and they need more than Twila and Scout to do that. They need to try and recruit another weak link to give them a majority 5-3 vote. If that happens to be Eliza that they need, than so what? Scout would have to bury her vindictiveness. However that is not the way these pinheads think.

OK –treemail announces reward challenge and it looks like little piggie will prove its worth. So off they cart piggie to the challenge, where he gets a buff from Jeff.
Now for the challenge. It consists of two 4 person teams making their way through an elaborate obstacle course. The catch is that one team member is bound at the hands and attached by an open ring to a rope which winds its way throughout the course. The task is to maneuver, manipulate, tug pull and twist your tribemate through the rope / obstacle course. First team to finish gets to go on a visit to another island and tribe where a feast awaits them. Piggie gets to go as a offering of hospitality to the hosts.

Ok so what I want to know is—Has somebody been monitoring my fantasies? I mean come on. Seeing Julie all tied up just did it for me! Although my ending for this was a lot better than MB’s. OK now settle down! I’m just kidding. I don’t want any of the same type of puritanical wingnuts that complained about a dropped towel on an NFL pre game show getting in a huff over this. Get a grip and get real. Extract those rakes from your nether regions and relax a bit.

It was quite the sight to see both Julie and Eliza being tossed like sacks of potatoes. I had to replay the action several times! It turned out that Chad, Chris and Ami did a better job with Eliza than Leann, Scout and Twila did with Julie. So Chad and co wins reward, leaving Julie quite tearful. So off Ami, Chad, Chris and Eliza go on their reward adventure.

I’m not going to dwell too much on the reward except for a couple of things that come to mind. It was a National Geographic type venture that was all very good and nice. Piggie was given and they received another pig in return but they didn’t bring that back with them. Chris said they didn’t want it! Huh? What’s the deal there? The kava ceremony got to Chad who apparently had several bowls of this potent concoction and had to be escorted to bed. Chris thought that was all a hoot. Hmmnn. Apparently the food was a real letdown for these folks. Rubber, was Ami’s verdict. Naturally the kids were the highlight of the whole experience. Very touching.

While things are all good at the reward location, Camp Alinta is a disaster zone. A full blown storm is making life miserable for these folks. It was a full time job for Scout to keep the fire going. According to insider videos, it was only Scout and Julie tending the fire while Twila and Leann did absolutely squat. All in all they are pretty dang cranky and are not feeling too kindly about their fellow tribemates who are probably having a nice dry reward night.

Day 26 dawns to clearing skies and drier weather and Scout coming to the conclusion that perhaps Eliza should be turfed in favor of keeping the men around to help them replenish the firewood and do other tasks that she claims Eliza can’t do. She broaches the matter with Twila, Leann and Julie and there is some tentative outward agreement. Certainly Twila and Scout seem to be for it. Julie is also considering it but Leann certainly doesn’t look too happy but she keeps her mouth shut. Ya get the feeling that this isn’t going to play?

The reward gang troops back home and the reception they get is akin to a guy coming home 5 hours late with boozy breath, a broken zipper and lipstick on the collar. FROSTY! Ami picked up on the vibe and realized something was afoot. Just what happened when she was away?

Scout is now seen briefing Chris and Chad that Leann, Julie and Twila are set to boot off Eliza. After that, Ami has to go. No matter how much I scream at the TV they still flounder in this cesspool of stupidity! Argghh.

The next scene with Chris claiming that he knew the ways and the tricks to get into the women’s hearts had me both gagging and laughing at his naiveté. Man, you are not going to see the lethal injection coming are ya?

The all important Immunity challenge is an endurance test that requires the players to hang onto a pole for as long as possible. The last person hanging wins. This was a difficult challenge since there was little to hold onto save for a rope band and some notches for toe holds. They go out in the following order: Chris, Julie, Scout, Ami, Eliza, Leann. Chad and Twila were left to fight it out and when I saw Twila biting the rope to hold on, I had a feeling it was a done deal and sure enough Chad went down. Twila wins!

Now for the fun around the fire as Scout tries to pitch her case to Ami for getting rid of Eliza. Scout still sticks to the reasoning that Eliza is useless at fire detail—blah blah blah. Ami is having none of Scout’s logic, saying it is very possible if they keep the men around they could go on an immunity binge and then they would have to start eating their own. Ami questions Julie and Leann and they seem to be wavering a tad.

Chad approaches Scout to try and see how things are going. Are they voting Eliza off? Scout counters with; I’m not sure what they are going to do. She hasn’t really talked to them. Chad isn’t happy but gets her to say that she will vote for Eliza. Chad next tries to pin down Twila on the matter and Twila claims she doesn’t have a clue where things stand, which shocks Chad. Twila hightails before he can get anything more out of her.

Twila next goes to Ami and asks her what is going on. Is Chad out or not? Ami claims ignorance and Twila turns the heat on Leann and Julie. Twila tells them she just wants to know what is happening so she can vote. She doesn’t like Eliza but if they are going to keep her, then so be it. As Ami said---It was drama city /soap operaville.

Twila tracks down Scout who is chopping wood and says that Ami is not down with the plan to vote out Eliza. It is too dangerous to keep the men in the game. Twila once again says she is being pulled in 2 different directions.

It is at this point that we must judge how much attention Scout is paying to the game. She tries to lecture Twila about the numbers saying that with the 2 men and herself and Twila, they hold a 4 to 3 advantage. HUH? WTFiddlesticks? Twila knows the math and she doesn’t want her fate decided in a 4-4 tie rock pick. Twila walks away aggravated, leaving Scout to count on her fingers the actual situation. It is hard to believe how indecisive Twila is. Pick a plan and go with it! Thankfully she isn’t an air traffic controller! The air would be filled with bodies dropping from colliding airplanes.

The TC is pretty standard fare with Jeff asking about potential new deal making. Eliza is worried about 2 women joining the men to force a tie breaker situation. Maybe things changed while they were away for the reward. Twila again harps on the fact that she can’t trust anyone 100%. It is at this point that Jeff finally calls Ami out about her smug look. She thinks Twila’s position is BS and Ami knows who she can trust and who can trust her. Twila had to know by this exchange that she is definitely not in Ami’s plans. The Vote: Chad goes down!

Jeff’s closing words of wisdom, while true and important should have been in these folks’ minds before this. Where do you stand in the pecking order? With one man left, he could become very valuable. I’m afraid it is too late for this gang to change the course of destiny. It looks like Ami will ride a wave right to the end.

Chris has certainly shown that if good strategy was electricity, he wouldn’t have enough to light up a firefly’s ass.

So that’s the deal. Where will this go? Check the View to find out how our panel feels.

Cheers
