Brook Geraghty, the 27-year-old project manager from Winthrop, Massachusetts was voted out in a shocking tribal council last night on CBS Survivor Vanuatu Islands of Fire. He appeared on the CBS Early Show this morning to talk about his disappointment of being the first person voted off the island. Rene - When the two tribes arrived on Vanuatu they were quickly divided onto two tribes- men on one - women on the other. And, while the women may have been shunned by the Island natives, it was the men who failed to win the games first Immunity Challenge
<shows a clip from last night when the women were placed on the mat while the men where treated differently - along with a clip of the women winning the first challenge- then Sarge saying that he didn't necessarily believe that Chris was the weakness link- then Jeff revealing to Brook that he has been voted off the island.>
Brook - (watching the video) says... that hurt
Rene - Jeez man... Brook Geraghty .. Good Morning - Welcome- is it hard now watching that?
Brook - No - it was actually pretty cool watch that last night....
Rene- I head you just now screaming at Chris -of course - it was hard watching it. You were just now screaming at him c'mon ..
Brook - Scout is 53 years old there is no excuse to lose to her in that event - I can't believe it. She came from behind too- he was winning! < he shakes his head>
Rene- How does that work - it seems like a no brainer - that Chris would be the first one to go -because he lost the Immunity challenge for you.
Brook- he said it himself last night- Survivor has nothing to do with balancing - you know what I mean - if it did he would be gone. But it didn't.. it has to do with relating to people and getting a group of people together. He had 5 and I thought we had 4 but Brady voted for Rory so...
Rene- yeah and this was a tough immunity challenge too
Brook- yeah it was awesome it was a lot of fun it was a pretty cool challenge
Rene- you didn't have any trouble getting across the beam though
Brook- no I flew across I think
Rene- yeah
Brook- it hurt though
Rene- ok.. what on the tape did we not see last night- because you had to do something- you had to act up on the island - something that we didn't see...
Brook- no I didn't act up nothing- nothing
Rene- why would you have been the first one voted off?
Brook - nothing nothing I was totally PC. I was having a great time out there - we had a blast all 9 of us - I thought we all got along well actually - I think Rory was probably the only outcast of the group - he was always doing his own thing. But besides that the first 3 days we had so much fun. There was a group of crazy characters on the Lopevi tribe and I was just....
Rene - one of the craziest?
Brook - the one that had to go - yeah I think so ...
Rene- hey when the tribes were broken up between men and women you said you weren't really pleased with that because you thought you would fair better with women and men.
Brook - well yeah ... in like a tradition - mostly Survivor will go men and women vs. a group of men and women- and when it's like that - the strong person you need and I was hoping for that because me and J.P were the 2 strongest there umm physically and you almost get a by when you are that strong male- when it's set up that way but when it's guys against girls then I kept thinking the Amazon and how the first 2 strong guys went early and they started with one strong guy last night ... I like to think I am pretty strong ...
Rene- yeah right ( she laughs) ( he laughs)
Rene - So, last night we saw Chad who revealed that he's an amputee
Brook- yeah yeah
Rene - did that surprise you? Because he had worn pants throughout the beginning ..
Brook - yeah even through casting - we are not allowed to talk but I had seen him and he was running around doing everything and I had no idea he was a amputee - so ...
Rene- he had a rare from of cancer - lost his lower leg- but he did well out there huh?
Brook- yeah he did pretty good ...
Rene - as in terms of everyone else ...
Brook - yeah
Rene- ok so alright you ...
Brook - I still would have voted his butt off like I said last night first shot I got .. but..
Rene- that's just the kind of guy you are ...
Brook - yeah
Rene- that's great .. ummmm....you are a huge Survivor fan ..
Brook- yeah totally totally
Rene- are you totally bummed out that you ...
Brook - I'm bummed out .. but mostly I am happy that I made it - like I beat out millions and millions of people who would love to play the game you know? But. when I made it you know - I envisioned me being on Day 30- with me just like sweating, hungry, dirty and having a really deep - you know find some will to go on and keep playing
Rene- so I guess you will be sweating, hungry and dirty on Day 30 but in front of your TV set ...
Brook - yeah ...

Rene- can you name on other - because you are part of this elite club now -
Brook - yeah
Rene- of the first voted off- can you name one from any other season who was the first to go?
Brook- oh I can name them all
Rene- give me them...
Brook - Season 1 was Sonya - Season 2 was Deb - Season 3 - Africa was Diane - Season 4 was John.. no no no...
Rene- Peter
Brook - Peter ..Peter I got it .. Season 5 was John - Season 6 - Amazon was Ryan - Season 7 was Pearl Islands - it was Nicole- Season 8 was Tina ...
Rene- that's right and Season 9
Brook - Season 9 (throws his head back) and says ohhhh....

Brook - and I think that I said on my day after interview with them that I could name all of these Survivor but that I didn't want to be the answer to that question- you know what I mean?
Rene- be a part of it .. alright ... and you know what .. ( she reaches over and touches his knee) we are going to get you a little bit of therapy.. thanks so much .. ( she laughs) says thank you so much - we'll be right back
