Last night on Survivor: All-Stars, Lex saw his golden opportunity to get rid of his friend and former ally - Colby Donaldson. Kathy, who was "fitting in like a glove" over with the Chapera tribe, returned back to Mogo Mogo to find Colby Donaldson gone. In a power play, based on a their anticipation of a merge coming soon, Lex, Jerri and Shii Ann plotted to remove the physically strongest member of their tribe. Colby, admitted on the CBS Early Show this morning that he "knew he was on borrowed time" but did not realize until he got to Tribal Council last night that his time was up. Colby talked with Harry Smith and Julie Chen this morning about how he felt about last nights vote, why he didn't have any words for Jerri when he voted for her last night, how Ethan was suppose to fit into the Mogo Mogo tribe, and how he was glad that Jerri finally got her revenge on him after three and half years. Harry Smith - Fans of Survivor remember that Colby Donaldson dominated on Survivor's 2nd season and apparently the other All-Stars were watching too. Last night his tribe sent him packing, before he could run away with the million dollars.
(Shows clip from last night with Jeff asking Shii Ann who could the tribe most afford to lose based on physical power- then Shii Ann saying Colby definitely the strongest physically - Jeff asking if that makes Colby feel secure -Colby saying that it makes him feel like they see him as the guy they need to get rid of - Jeff telling Colby - the Tribe has Spoken as he snuffs Colby's torch)
Harry - You could almost see the light go off in your head thinking ... Oh my God...
Colby - Yeah.. Yeah ..
Harry - ... I may have just screwed myself....
Colby - ...you're exactly right.
Harry - is that it? It wasn't until Tribal Council that you understood just how vulnerable you had made yourself?
Colby - no ... I knew at some point .. that was definitely going to be an issue - my strength. And, everyone knew how Australia had gone as far as the challenges ... I didn't think it would happen so soon. You know.. so as to whether or not it was a shock being voted off- I knew it was coming - ummm..
Harry - well from watching the show you had really sorta developed this Alpha Male role in the last couple of weeks of - I'm running this show - you know - you were making decisions about who to bring in .. who is going to go - having these very frank discussions with some of the members of the tribe - You're not pulling your weight .. that kind of stuff - and it seemed like you really had- you had it under control.
Colby - well.. it wasn't .. for me it wasn't about control. It was maintaining strength in the tribe. So, what kind of appeared me being a puppet master or me calling the shots - was a situation where it was Lex and Kathy and I - the strength and then bringing Ethan along - uhh.. making things work in our benefit...
Harry - with Kathy out of the picture, do you think that had a lot to do with your getting voted off?
Colby- I don't know .. that curious - because I don't know how Kathy would have voted. You know she would have probably .. she and Lex had something pretty tight going on - so she may have been along with them on that vote. But, it would have been - it would have helped to get a sense .. to get a feel around camp how everyone was thinking.
Harry - Did you have any idea that Lex had hatched this plot?
Colby - ummm... I knew that Lex was very ..you know.. you would be a fool to trust him all the time. I was hoping I could, but deep down inside, I didn't know if I could. He's a great player, he was strong - you know because he had me convinced that I was ok for at least one more Tribal Council. And, so you know.. I knew that I was on borrowed time .. I just wanted to make it as far as I could and try to get into a individuals situation that way we all could compete toe to toe.. but it didn't work out ( chuckles)
Harry - there's Jenna still standing ( laughs)
Colby - yeah... (laughs a little)
Harry - there's Ethan the guy you brought in - who looked like to be you ally - to stick with you -
Colby - right
Harry - and you could always discard him at the end...
Colby - yeah
Harry - you know you had played so much of this strategy that seemed so correct...
Colby - yeah well you know.. Ethan did and we had brought him - mainly so we didn't have to compete against him anymore.. he's such an athlete and such a competitor - he became..
Harry - is he a choker ?? That's a hard question to ask here folks .. but we're getting down to the nitty gritty - I mean my gosh he was so far in front- -
Colby - is he a choker... ?
Harry - what happened?
Colby - that was hard.. that was hard to take. Ethan went into the jungle with a big lead - he came out and Boston Rob was leading - and we didn't know what had transpired - we couldn't see what was going on in the jungle.
Harry - what did Ethan say?
Colby - ummm... as soon as we got back to camp - he not only apologized to the entire tribe, but he and I talked privately and he said that I did .. he said " I muffed it". uhhh.. but you saw in the challenge - that we had a chance to win - we came back and our raft was side by side and we didn't pull it off so... you know the blame can't all go to Ethan.

Harry - good show last night
Colby - it was fun to watch
Harry - it was fun to watch and you're a good sport...
Colby - the ending was so fun to watch .. but it was ok.. I'm just glad that after 3 1/2 years .. Jerri finally got her revenge.
Harry - laughs
Colby - you know a lot of sleepless nights ..I'm sure she's had - waiting to take it out on me! So..
Harry - you got it .. you paid the price...
Colby - (just flashing that big smile)
Harry - now you were the one.. my kids were the ones to point it out that your the guy on the Schick ads -
Colby - The Schick campaign.. yeah... I'm the Schick Guy!
Harry - absolutely
(shows a clip of the Schick commercial)
Colby - ironically I don't hardly ever shave...
Harry - laughs
Colby- that's the funny part.
Harry -when the ad came on .. we were like "who is that guy - we know that guy"
Colby - yeah!
Harry - It's Colby!
Colby - it was a lot of fun
Harry - yeah... did they want you to do it in the jungle.. did they think about that at all or...
Collby- no.. but the funny thing.. and I don't even know if the powers that be over at Schick realize this .. but after the game - I shaved my head - ummm.. there were so many sand fleas over there.. the bugs were so bad - that I couldn't ever get them out of my scalp after the game. So.. I took a razor - a Schick Quarto - mind you - and shaved my entire head... so we should have done a campaign ..
Harry -well now that you mentioned it - they may wanna do that again..
Colby - we should have done that for a commercial
Harry - alright now here's the other big surprise- we're watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm" last Sunday and there you pop up - you know we have a little clip let's take a look...

Harry - talk about politically incorrect- I will not even begin to explain what the story line is about...
Colby - but wasn't it funny...it was great
Harry - suffice it to say - I thought you acquainted yourself very well on that show
Colby - well thanks .. it was a lot of fun - umm you know there's been some victories - I've been out there over 2 years now pursuing acting - this was a blast to do - to do Larry David's show and be in that company.
Harry - alright Colby's going to stick around and answer some more of your questions. Good to see you pal!

Julie- After losing a combination Reward and Immunity Challenge - The Mogo Mogo tribe which now includes, Kathy, Ethan, Lex, Shii Ann and Jerri pulled a fast one on Colby Donaldson ( shows a red X being placed over Colby's face ) The Outback All-Star was sent packing and never even saw it coming... Welcome back to the second appearance on the Early Show Colby.
Colby- Thanks
Julie- we should point out that not the whole tribe turned against you - because Kathy didn't vote last night and Ethan was on your side.
Colby- right - that's right
Julie- it was just all the others.
Colby- yeah - and yeah I think it was as big of a shock to Ethan last night as it was to me. Ummm.. because obliviously they left him out of the loop when they made this decision to get rid of me. And as :Lex pointed out in the show last night - they didn't need him - the knew they had 3 votes. Which direction Kathy would have gone- we don't know and we'll never know.
Julie- What's your reaction to last night- Shii Ann - who was the swing vote who sent you packing essentially with Lex . She said " you have underestimated my powers - maybe you should spend some time analyzing your own."
Colby - yeah
Julie - MEOW ....
Colby - yeah... well I thought a more interesting quote that she had last night was - my one ally - meaning Kathy - is off on a boat somewhere enjoying - which should have been - my one decision maker is off on a boat enjoying something. Because that is where I think she was lost. Kathy is the one that Shii Ann would go to. Who are we voting for? Which way is it going to go? Ummm.. and without having Kathy there to decide for her.. she was sorta up in the air - and she talked about throughout the episode - her feelings about Jerri and how distraught she was about that .. and then ultimately voted for me..so.....
Julie - We're going to take a caller - Annette in on the line from Michigan.. go ahead Annette.
Annette- Hi Colby
Colby- Hi Annette.
Annette- Last night when you were bragging to Ethan how you were already planning on what you were going to Jerri when you voted for her.. however last night when you actually voted - all you did was shrug your shoulders
Colby- right
Annette- so my question to you is.. What were you planning on saying to Jerri and why didn't you say it?
Colby- well the reason I didn't say anything is umm.. and not to sound cliché but " If you don't have anything good to say - don't say anything at all." ( chuckles ) ummm.. it just wasn't .. for me.. you know I think a lot of people use that time when they cast a vote to get malicious - to say things that are negative and I didn't know if Jerri was gong to get voted out - I mean I didn't know whether it would be me or her - so I certainly wasn't going to get cocky and say " see you later" you know... ( big smile)
Julie - smart move because - it would have been like eating a big bowl of crow.
Colby - yeah the old humble pie would have been served this morning...so...
Julie - alright - thanks a lot Annette. Let's take Laurie from Ohio- she's got a question for you.
Laurie- Hi Colby!
Colby - Hi Laurie.
Laurie- My question for you is.. Do you think that since you've been voted off the Mogo Mogo tribe is going to go down now?
Colby- ummm.. I don't know. You know what -( seems like he's trying to find the right words to say) ..umm.. ummm.. I would think that if it is a physical challenge or even if .. well it just depends on what the challenge is.... ummm I think I was an asset to the team.. but I guess next week we'll find out. I don't know how they will do. The do still have Ethan and Lex and those guys are amazing - they're great in the water. That was one thing that I wish we could have seen more as a viewer- was just how much - you know we were going out everyday clamming and bringing back dozen and dozens of clams to eat - the 3 of us would and that was also something that we had a lot of fun doing. There was a lot of camaraderie between Lex and Ethan and I. And, we had a lot of fun.
Julie- you know what did not help your tribe was when 2 weeks ago - you actually won that challenge - Jeff P. admitted that he made a bad call - when you and Rob were on the balance beam - it looked like you fell into the water first
(shows a clip of Colby and Rob on the beam.. and then a highlight of Rob's foot actually touching the water a second before Colby did)
Colby- right
Julie - But... after careful viewing - watch the foot of Boston Rob - so Mogo Mogo shouldn't be down as...
Colby - well...
Julie- what what what..
Colby- Julie .. I gotta tell you - ummm .. I may have won that particular battle with Rob - umm as that footage showed.... but that doesn't mean that our tribe won that challenge - I think we got beat by 3 flags ...so it wouldn't have changed the overall outcome of that game...
Julie- ok...
Colby - and again....
Juile - well Richard Hatch has something else to say...
Colby - I'm sure he does.. but you know ... the funny thing.. I first heard about that from Jeff.. who is a good friend of mine.. and we laughed about it. Because you know Super Bowls are won and lost on judgment calls and that is what Jeff is there to do.. and we know that as players... it is up to him and unfortunately that was a call that he missed and .... but you know.. I'll take it out on him on the poker table.
Julie- laughs and says - Let's take another call.. real quick... Loretta's on the line- real quick Loretta from West Virginia - what's your question?
Loretta- Have you seen a change in yourself between the first and second episodes?
Colby - you mean the first and second series? Australia vs. All- Stars?
Loretta- (in the background laughing saying yeah)
Colby - a change in the way I played or a change in me? I'm not sure I understand.
Loretta- A change in yourself.
Colby - ummm... nope.. same guy - same strategy .. I just wanted to go in and play as straight up as I could and as hard as I could and .. it is the competition that drew me back in this time. Wanting to go back and ... I just wish .. you know.. I caught a lot of flack after the first show for you know quote /unquote "giving it to Tina" and letting her win. Umm.. I've never lost a night of sleep thinking about that and I don't regret anything. That was one reason I wanted to go back - was to play it the same way again and to show that it could be done - ( raises his hand as if to say - oh well) but it didn't work out.
Julie- (reaches over to shake Colby's hand ) - same good guy - Colby Donaldson - Thank you!
